Useful things made from recycled materials?
Feb 6th, 2010 by Trash Robot
I have an Earth Day Project I have to do for school. I have to make something useful out of recycled materials. Some people have done a purse made out of jeans a little robot made out of a tin can a fountain a clock. Somthing like that I REALLY need ideas because I have no idea what to do. So come up with some ideas please!!!!
You can convert an empty one-liter Glacier smart water bottle into a pretty good lamp if you buy a kit at a hardware or lighting store. You’d have to fill that tall skinny bottle with sand or something to keep it from falling over.

If you want something super easy and fast and cheap:
I suppose you could cut the top few inches off a couple of these bottles and paint them to look like vases.
Or you could make a pencil holder for a desk from an empty can or Quaker Oats box. Cover it with a picture cut out of a magazine or a big weather map like the ones printed in USA Today, or maybe some scrap fabric.
